Experience & Training

 

1962:- Worked as Nurses Aid in Kelowna General Hospital after graduation from High School at KSS.

1962-65:- Three year theological training at WPBC in North Vancouver, graduated in 1965.

1966:- Practical Nurses Training for one year at the Kelowna Vocational College.

1967-70:-Whitehorse YT as camp nurse and during winter months worked at the Government office in the Treasury Dept. doing secretarial work.

1970:- North Dakota University with Wycliffe Bible Translators-graduated that Fall.

1972-74:  RN Training at Seneca College School of Nursing-graduated in 1974.

1975:-Tropical Disease Course for 5 months for lab work, bone setting, tooth extractions, midwife, etc.

1976-78:  Worked in Toronto, Ontarion with Central Nurses Registry with all the downtown Hospitals, specializing in ICU and Cardiac Care.

1978-79-Overseas nursing in India (Consultation done with Dr. Muzumdar in New Delhi, India)  He won awards from Nehru for his research and medical expertise in necular medicine for thyroid patients.  I was with him for two months, and then spent the other month up in Kashmir.

1980-82-Director of Nurses at Sunset Manor, East Los Angeles County, Southern California, USA.  Instructor for the CNA Program, (Certified Nursing Assistant).  Oversaw all in-service training for the RN’s and for the RNA’s.

1983-93-Extensive specialized training in the following areas, CCRN (Critical Care Nursing) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) PACU (Post Anethesetic Cardiac Unit) NACCOG (National Accreditation & Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology) CCU (Cardiac Care Unit) Certification in each specialized area of nursing over that 10 year period.


1993-2001-Physciatric Nursing in my own home.  Fisher's Home Health Care:  Equipped to take in patients recovering from alcohol and drug abuse.  Also took in patients from local surrounding Hospitals with manic depressive disorder, schizophrenia and personality disorders. 

2001-present-Life Skill Training taught in my home for disabled individuals.  Consulting on the web per my site @ http://www.telanurse.com .  Continue to upgrade and keep updated on the web:-  re heartinfo.org and emedicne.com, also rn.com.

 

 

 

1997-99-Computer training to implement all of the above into a Consulting Service on the web.  Telanurse Online….http://www.telanurse.com.   Telanurse practice is now becoming a common way that "retired" nurses such as myself can offer our many years of training and expertise to help others. I do keep up my licensing and am currently licensed in Ontario and California, USA.

 

 

 

 

Hobbies

 

n     Computer work with Web Design, RN Consultation, RN Courses

n     Yard work, vegetable garden, growing flowers

n     Photography:- putting my photo’s on the web

n     Music:- singing and playing the piano, accordion and a little of the guitar…am learning how to put my songs on the web now.
